Story time... So, I get home from my rough day (I had a HUGE exam today) and look in the fridge and with disgust, I decided that our venture of an organic co-op was a bad idea.
About 6 months ago Mike can home with a brochure from a farm that sells organic produce. I thought it was a great idea, since we spend so much money of veggies from the grocery store anyways. So, we bought into it and EVERY THURS we get a ginormous 'green' bag full of veggies. Sounds great right?? WRONG! The first few weeks were wonderful, it was fun to see what Mike came home with but then it sits...and sits... and sits until one of us decides that we need to give it away or buck up and try a new recipe.
This brings us to the present. Tonight I look in the fridge and it is packed full of this beautiful produce. Leeks, sweet corn, green peppers, basil, radishes, purple carrots (YES, purple!! You can imagine my excited when I saw these bad boys!!!) etc...
So, instead of trying to strum up a new recipe I decided that ALL the veggies need a home tonight. As you can see I made veggie stir-fry. It is the easiest dish that I could think of that used up all this delicious goodness into one big pan. (Good thinking huh?)
THEN... Mike came home (Late) and he walks in with two bags of grocerys. He hasnt grocery shopped in about 2 months, so I was intrigued. As he unloaded the bags, which were filled with strawberries, fresh pineapple, orange pepper, jalepenos, chili's, a hobanero and last but not least 2 Ball mason jars! (WTF???)
Mike's response to my neverending "what the hell is all this" quote is, "Im going to make infused vodka."
Me: Are you kidding??? This isnt the frat house!
Mike: "I am the shit at making this, I used to make it all the time in college. Im going to make pepper infused and strawberry pineapple infused."
Me: ***insert jaw dropping facial expression*** "Ok Honey, but you are doing the dishes tonight."
Mike: "Thats fine, the kitchen is going to look like a disaster area while Im doing this anyways."
Me: Great!
So, with that, I bring you the pictures of tonights 'disaster area'
oh... and the dancing portion of this post is the NEW season of Dancing with the Stars! YAY!!!!
